TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION FOR IATF: JET PRESS

03.16.23

A manufacturer in the automotive industry, jet press wanted to supply a cost-effective, efficient and company-wide training platform for all levels across the business.

FINDING A SOLUTION

Jet Press is a leading global supplier of value engineered solutions and components including the
manufacture, building and assembly of engineered fasteners, and hardware within the automotive,
engineering and furniture industries. Through their in-house engineering and development expertise, they help to lower the risk, cost, and complexity of customers’ supply chains.

Jet Press identified the need for an internal training program following a review of the current tools in place to maintain compliance and standardisation.

Jet Press turned to Bureau Veritas to assist with their company-wide training including modules in
Information Security Management, Manual Handling and Fire Risk Assessments.

The training has allowed us to work out the total investment hours for specific courses, teams, individuals and even companywide. We can talk about the cost of quality and the cost of training in terms of people and time investment. For £32 per year per colleague we are able to offer our team a wealth of specialist training material previously out of reach. This is an affordable way to train your team on a range of topics where you may not have the required expertise yourself.

ACHIEVEMENTS

To meet the brief Bureau Veritas provided a suite of 120+ courses, with supplementary titles for individualised training options, to ensure all requirements were met. Working with the Bureau Veritas training team, Richard says he was able to, “identify the key modules for each team, to ensure risks were minimised especially around personal injury, mental health and other similar topics.”

Overall, I think the platform is great, which is why we’ve just signed up for another two years. The training works especially well where we’ve intertwined it with our ISO strategy. I create objectives that point directly to the training platform. For example, the training has become part of our health and safety process. The induction modules are completed within ten working days, and that’s a measurable objective within our ISO 45001 program. It stops standardization and company progression becoming isolated, we’re able to join everything up.

Through deploying eLearning content Bureau Veritas provided an operationally slick training system including bite-sized sessions to remove cost and time barriers. The training includes supplementary content for personal and specific training with no-extra cost, removing the need for a business case or formal training request. This has allowed for personal progression options through applicable courses designed for individuals in certain areas, departments and at differing levels, improving accessibility. Now Jet Press can monitor and record progress through the platform to demonstrate compliance and remove the risk for legal claims. The platform also generates certificates on completion of each module to create healthy internal competition and push teams to achieve their goals.

Jet Press now proactively promote the training as a business, creating a positive message and workplace culture around safety and compliance.

We are delighted with the update of the content and Learning Management System (LMS) at Jet Press. Due to the wide range of titles and easy-to-use LMS this product has proven to be extremely useful across the client’s business.
Next Steps

Following their initial one-year contract with Bureau Veritas, Jet Press have now renewed for another two
years. Their next steps are to continue the course modules and they are now looking to use the additional
and supplementary titles supplied to form part of their ISO strategy.
