Electric Vehicle Charging Points Testing & Inspection
Manage your EAWR obligations with our periodic inspection and testing of EV charging points and stations
As the number of Electric Vehicle (EV) registrations in the UK continues to increase, so too does the number of EV charging points. More and more organisations are installing EV charging points on their premises, which require periodic inspection and testing to ensure safety.
Like any fixed electrical installation, Duty Holders are required under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EAWR) to ensure the safety of EV charging points. This includes maintaining electric vehicle systems to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, any danger to employees, visitors or other persons.
Offering a dedicated team of electrical experts, Bureau Veritas supports clients with trusted inspection and testing programmes of EV charging points to help ensure safety and compliance with reference to EAWR and other associated documents.
Taking into account that EV charging points and stations are a high use assets, often installed outside and therefore vulnerable to mechanical damage and environmental factors, we recommend formal periodic inspecting and testing of electric vehicle annually, with a robust series of checking in place for daily users.
