CLIENT CHALLENGE

Bawtry Town Council recognised the growing demand for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) as the UK shifts towards electric vehicles.

However, the council faced significant challenges in launching a tender process for EVCI installation

Bawtry Town Council faced the complex task of implementing EVCI to support climate change mitigation measures. As a non-technical organisation, they encountered several challenges:

Key project CHALLENGEs:
  • Technical Complexity: The council lacked the expertise to understand and evaluate the technical aspects of EVCI proposals, making it difficult to make informed decisions.
  • Tender Process Optimisation: Previous tender documentation needed improvement to facilitate accurate comparisons between bidders and ensure the council's specific requirements were met.
  • Impartial Evaluation: With multiple bids received, the council required an unbiased, expert assessment to select the most suitable contractor.
  • Long-term Implementation Support: Beyond the initial selection, the council needed ongoing technical consultancy to ensure effective specification and installation of the EVCI.
