Supporting Data Centres From Concept to Compliance

Bureau Veritas was established in 1828 and now operates in more than 140 countries globally, employing over 80,000 people. Built on our core business as a Global Leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification, we have developed a dedicated focus on the Data Centre Industry and Cybersecurity Conformity Assessment Services — we now cover the complete lifecycle of a data centre, from feasibility studies and design verification, through independent commissioning witnessing, to operational compliance and life cycle certification.

Today's digital economy runs on data centres — and demand has never been higher.

Data centres have earned recognition as the fifth utility — alongside water, electricity, gas, and telecoms — reflecting their critical role in modern society. Driven by cloud computing, AI, and big data analytics, the global data centre construction pipeline is now tracked at $771.7 billion, with the UK pipeline alone valued at $60.05 billion (GlobalData). But this growth brings mounting pressure: rising construction costs, land and power constraints, and increasingly complex regulatory obligations across every stage of a facility's life.

Bureau Veritas supports developers, operators, and end users through this entire journey — offering independent verification and certification at every stage of the data centre lifecycle, going beyond simple compliance to reduce risk, improve performance, and promote sustainable development.

Our recent acquisition of Lotusworks further strengthens our mission-critical commissioning and quality assurance capabilities across data centres and semiconductor manufacturing.
