Sam Hamilton - career story 

Could you describe your career path and current position at Bureau Veritas UK?

I have been working in the recruitment industry for over nine years and have been at Bureau Veritas working as a Recruitment Partner for the last year and a half. When I first joined, I looked after the recruitment for the Mechanical business unit, but my role has now grown to cover the Electrical and Fire engineering teams, which has giving me great exposure to the business. 

 In your day-to-day work, how do you contribute to Shaping a World of Trust?

Working within recruitment enables me to bring in the best talent to the business so that we can provide services to clients and society that make it sustainable, smarter and safer.

 What has been a personal highlight since joining us?

One of my highlights is being the employee resource group lead for the ex-military workforce group. Through this role, I have had the opportunity to get involved in hosting a charity lunch for blind veterans, celebrating our workforce by attending the Ex-Military in Business Awards and developing onboarding programs for veterans to name just a few. I am proud to work for a company that values and supports our ex-military personnel. We are Gold Award holder in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, which is a testament to our commitment to helping service leavers transition into civilian roles. 

What would you say to someone considering a career with us?

It’s a great organisation to join and develop your career. You can learn something new every day, there are always different things that you can get involved in so no day will be the same.
