Supporting our staff through SAFED

Nov. 6 2019

As global leaders in testing, inspection and certification services, Bureau Veritas offers a wide range of health and safety services for clients, supporting organisations in meeting their obligations when it comes to workplace safety law.

Our team includes auditors, assessors and inspection engineers, each with the relevant training and qualifications needed to undertake specific duties as part of our health and safety offering. However, our commitment to service excellence doesn’t stop there.

To make sure that the entire Bureau Veritas team can fully understand the challenges and requirements of our clients, we also provide training opportunities for business development and support staff – which includes the SAFed H&S Passport Scheme.

No less than 15 of our business development team have now secured their SAFed qualification from the Safety Assessment Federation, which represents the UK independent engineering inspection and certification industry and plays a key role in maintaining high standards of safety within the workplace.

This means they understand exactly what is required when liaising with clients about engineering inspections across all types of work equipment, including crane, lift and pressure equipment.

It also demonstrates our commitment to our people, continuously investing in training to support professional development and individual career plans across our organisation. It’s one of the reasons Bureau Veritas has been named a Top Employer by the Top Employer’s Institute for seven consecutive years.

Ben Skinner, National Sales Enablement Manager said: “It would be easy to focus on our inspection engineers when it comes to safety qualifications but we’re keen to support all of our staff and to help give them the platform to do their job to the best of their capabilities.

“By supporting our business development team through their SAFed qualification, we are not only showcasing our investment in people, but also helping to deliver a better service to our clients.”
