GET READY FOR NEW CALORIE LABELLING REGULATIONS

Mar. 2 2022

Under new regulations from April 2022, organisations in England with more than 250 employees will be required to display calorie information to customers when choosing eligible food items. This includes physical menus, online menus, food delivery platforms, and food labels.

The Calorie Labelling (Out of Home Sector) (England) Regulations 2021 are designed to make it easier for consumers to make healthier choices when eating out. For eligible organisations in the food supply chain, it means making changes to meet the new requirements.

To support our clients in discharging their duties and achieving compliance, Bureau Veritas has launched a new guidance document which is now available for download using the button below.

Calorie Labelling – Guidance for Food Businesses has been prepared by the experienced Bureau Veritas Food team, giving food businesses all the information they need to achieve and maintain compliance with the new Regulations.

It covers key information including:
  • What food is included within the scheme
  • What information must be displayed
  • What organisations are eligible
  • Details of exempt food and food for specific audiences
