DAVE COMPLETES 55-MILE YOMP IN SUPPORT OF ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND

Oct. 8 2021

Bureau Veritas’ Area Manager Dave Page was part of a team that walked 54 miles in less than 20.5 hours to complete the Cateran Yomp last month, raising over £500 for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF The Soldiers’ Charity).

Dave, from the Bureau Veritas Mechanical division, is one of a number of Armed Forces personnel working at Bureau Veritas, continuing to show their commitment and support for the Forces and associated charities. He joined other servicing and ex-service personnel on the tenth annual Yomp in the Grampian Mountains in Scotland – all aiming to complete the 54 mile walk in under 24 hours.

Our link to the Armed Forces is strengthened by the success of the Bureau Veritas Service Leavers Programme. The business has worked closely with the Armed Forces and relevant charities for a number of years to help support the transition of ex-services personnel into civilian roles, offering new career opportunities, practical work experience and training opportunities. In 2015 we signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2015, which underlines our commitment to support the wider Armed Forces community and to recognise its contribution to the business and our country.

Dave said: “I was chuffed to have completed it in just over 20 hours, coming in 106 in a field of 515 and raising £500, easily one of the hardest things I’ve done in a while. I’m very humbled by the generous BV family’s kind words and support.”
