Bureau Veritas offers embedded expertise In Ireland for Covid-19 restarts

Jul. 15 2020

As more businesses continue to return to work and reopen premises following the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, our team in Ireland has developed a unique new service to support them with embedded health and safety expertise.

Bureau Veritas in Ireland is now working with a number of clients to provide a qualified health and safety engineer, working on-site with the client team, to guide and manage workplaces in meeting the requirements.

It’s all part of our Restart Your Business solution, providing independent assurance of an organisation’s preparedness to reopen premises and meet the requirements of the ‘new normal’.

Measures must be taken in line with the Government of Ireland’s detailed COVID-19 Specific National Protocol for Employers and Workers document, which is designed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. The Health & Safety Authority in Ireland has also developed a COVID-19 response plan, detailing the policies and practices necessary to meet the Protocol.

Combining technical excellence with a partnership approach, our team is already successfully working with clients including a global investment management company and major workplace healthcare provider. Working an ‘embedded’ basis as part of the client team, our experts are helping these organisation to understand the requirements, apply the measures to their own individual operations and demonstrate their commitment to health, safety and hygiene in the current climate.

Vicky Shah, Sector Lead for Retail and Hospitality at Bureau Veritas said: “Restart Your Business has already proved to be a hugely successful solution for businesses across a number of sectors, providing their customers and staff with confidence in their measures through independent assurance.

“However, when speaking with clients it became clear that some organisations would benefit from additional support and an even more tailored approach. We now have qualified engineers embedded within client businesses across Ireland, working as an extension of their team to help monitor, implement and assess safety measures in line with the official guidance from the Irish Government and HSA.

“This additional service is another example of the lengths we go to support our clients, developing unique solutions to meet their individual requirements, especially during these challenging times. And we are looking forward to offering the same service standards to more clients going forwards.”
