Helping all the actors in the Nuclear industry demonstrate their compliance with regulations
The Nuclear Industry is a complex and constantly evolving industry. It is subject to high-level scrutiny from governmental and non-governmental organisations, through numerous regulations and increasing pressure to ensure site and activity safety.
We deliver a full range of services that help all the actors in the nuclear industry demonstrate their compliance with regulations.
In large and complex nuclear plant projects, mastering nuclear quality and safety levels for all installation and equipment challenges is a key success factor. Correctly interacting with nuclear authorities, industrial manufacturers, civil engineers or subcontractors and working in collaboration with utility companies is vital to the project. That's why many operators turn to an independent organisation such as Bureau Veritas for support.
As a conformity assessment body, and when needed as a third party inspection body, we can help you in meeting all your industry needs through our strict nuclear quality management system.
Design and procurement
With a vast portfolio of nuclear experience and expertise, we consolidate your know-how to provide a complete risk and compliance solution in accordance with international and local regulations, throughout the lifetime of your assets.
As part of our innovative way of working with our clients, we offer clients remote supervision field audits using Realwear smartglasses. A key benefit to this offer is that it saves travel time, driving CO2 savings and ultimately reducing costs for clients through reduced travel, expenses and manhours.
This service helps to ensure internal and external standards are met, even if client inspection engineers are unable to travel internationally due to restrictions.
Using Realwear smartglasses, our local inspection engineer can ensure full compliance of all tasks performed within the defined scope of the assessment, relaying live footage with two-way interaction to an inspector from the client’s internal inspection team watching on a PC.
Our experienced nuclear team has been working with EDF NNB GenCo since 2010 to undertake inspection and quality related tasks ahead of the construction of two European Pressurised Reactors (EPRs) at Hinkley Point C.
This gives Bureau Veritas a unique understanding of the project scope and challenges, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure quality, maintain integrity, achieve compliance. Hinkley Point C is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years.
Within a series of individual frameworks, we have successfully completed tasks for EDF NNB GenCo, major contractors and for the Office for Nuclear Regulation.
