Leaving Our Mark on A More Sustainable Society

More than 1,100 trees have already been planted as a result of our partnership with Reforest’Action, a global initiative whose primary mission is to raise awareness and take action for forests. With the support of businesses and individuals, the global reforestation project has planted more than five million trees since 2010 to help support global sustainability and socio-economic development.

Planting a single tree can offset 579km of car travel, create three shelters for animals, generate four months of oxygen to support global wellbeing and create one hour of employment in some of the world’s poorest areas.

To date, Bureau Veritas has planted 1,166 trees across South America and Europe, including 156 directly attributed to new starts in the UK business. This plantation alone has helped to store 175 tons of CO₂, create 3,498 animal shelters, generate 389 years’ worth of oxygen and create 167 days of work.

The trees represent not just the growth and development of our employees, but also their work at Bureau Veritas; leaving their mark in shaping a sustainable society.

We’ve listened to feedback about our onboarding process for new employees and this initiative not only supports our sustainability agenda, but also symbolises our commitment to personal growth and career development.

We’ve already seen the positive impact of our plantation from last year’s new starters and we’re looking forward to continuing to make a positive difference as we continue our growth in the UK and North West Europe region.”
