THE ’CARBON MYTH’ – WHY CARBON MANAGEMENT DOES NOT COST THE EARTH

Mar. 8 2022

With stringent targets on carbon reduction set by Governments worldwide and greater responsibilities placed on businesses as a result, there has been a seismic shift in the interest and engagement in carbon management and associated activities.

Many organisations still believe the common misconception that the path to Net Zero means added complexity, time and cost. In fact, the opposite is true.

Focusing on Net Zero strategies early - including supply chain emissions - will help a business to build resilience and maintain continuity for the future, drive cost efficiencies and mitigate impact on our planet too.

Carbon management and associated activities have quickly become a critical part of any large organisation’s sustainability strategy and it’s vital that they get it right, particularly in the supply chain.

Our webinar will demonstrate how businesses can be more resilient by adapting to a Net Zero pathway, with particular focus on scope 3 emissions and their importance for achieving Net Zero.

We’ll be covering everything from what constitutes Net Zero and what doesn’t (e.g. carbon neutrality vs offsetting), how to adapt to changes, how they can support business resilience and what we really mean when we say scope 3 emissions.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from the experts at Bureau Veritas and we urge anybody who might be interested to register their place early.

The impact of scope 3 emissions

The supply chain is often the largest proportion of companies’ emissions, so monitoring and managing these is an important step to achieving Net Zero. This is challenging because often the data maturity is low, or visibility is not there. What data there is, is often not verified.

To support organisations in understanding and overcoming these challenges, we’re hosting a new webinar; The ‘Carbon Myth’ – Why Carbon Management Does Not Cost The Earth.
