BUREAU VERITAS EMPLOYEE INITIATIVES SUPPORTS IN SHAPING A BETTER WORLD

While we help organisations reduce their risks regarding health, quality, safety, and social responsibility, we as a Business to Business to Society company also hold a societal duty, to be exemplary and be a role model for industries in this area.

At Bureau Veritas we value volunteering and citizenship as a core part of our consumer social responsibility strategy and are proud that our work makes a positive impact in society. Shaping a Better World Day, created a great opportunity to add value to our CSR commitment, while also supporting our BV Group ambition to be a more responsible business.

This day that this will be celebrated annually is 5^th September, which also coincides with the International Day of Charity, this day was an opportunity for our employees to come together to support, promote and participate in volunteering and charitable contributions. This year we are demonstrating this through community support, charitable contribution and overall making a positive impact through employee driven initiatives.

The month saw a great opportunity to align our societal and Consumer Social Responsibility aspirations to our Shaping a Better World Day, coinciding with the International Day of Charity.

With events such as these helping us drive our latest CSR ambition in Shaping a better world, and to also align our  United Sustainable Development Goals outlined in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, through the commitment of employee driven initiatives with specific SDG goals in mind shown below.

VOLUNTEERING, DONATING AND SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

As above, the day which marked the start of local encouragement for employees to participate and engage in volunteering throughout was September 5^th, the International Day of Charity. To support these events as a global organisation and align with one of our Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) - Good health and Wellbeing was through acts of charitable donations. We hosted a business wide Afternoon Tea event which allowed teams to come together as one with a goal in raising awareness and supporting charity’s through acts of donations.

World Clean Up Day on 18^th September, was another key date which utilised as a driver for employees to continue shaping a better world and align another one of our SDG goals of Climate Action. Supporting and giving back to the local communities in which we all work within, through volunteering, arranging collections for local charities, or a litter pick.
