Bureau Veritas has been appointed by COSQC (Central Organisation for Standardisation and Quality Control) to provide Verification of Conformity services for the importation of shipments into Iraq.

Verification of Conformity helps to protect consumers, improve the quality of products and protect domestic industry in countries. Working together with exporters, Bureau Veritas will facilitate the process to enable conforming products and shipments to be imported to Iraq.

Through documentary review, testing and inspection, our specialist Certification & Government Services team will issue Certificates of Conformity or Certificates of Inspection, which enable shipments to be imported.

David Hendry, Service Delivery Lead for Certification & Government Services at Bureau Veritas, said: “We are delighted to be working with COSQC and this is another success for the team after recently implementing successful Verification of Conformity programmes in Gabon and the Kingdom of Morocco.  The addition of Iraq brings the number of VOC contracts we hold with Governments and Authorities globally to almost thirty different Countries”

“Verification of Conformity can help to protect consumers against dangerous, sub-standard or counterfeit products, improve the quality of products being imported and protect domestic industry from unfair competition if poor quality imports are being brought into the market. It can also ease trade operations by recognising existing conformity proof to avoid unnecessary re-testing.”

The programme is expected to launch in early 2022 although enquiries from exporters are being taken now.
