Seminar: Supporting organisations in maintaining electrical compliance

Jul. 17 2019

Join Bureau Veritas in Coventry on Wednesday 18th September for a unique seminar designed to support organisations in maintaining electrical compliance following the release of the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671 (18th Edition), which came into full effect in January 2019.

Our experts will be on hand to recap how your business must adapt to meet the new requirements set out in the legislation, with a particular focus on how to maintain electrical compliance in line with the changes and additions included in the latest update. As well as wider electrical legislation that also plays a key role in an organisation’s compliance.

A range of topics will be covered including surge protection requirements, compliant installation and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in line with regulations, AFDD’s (Arc Fault Detection Devices) and duty holder responsibilities. The Bureau Veritas team will also demonstrate the risks and penalties of non-compliance, along with an interactive session on how to understand your electrical reports and deal with defects.

In addition to this, the Bureau Veritas digital team will be introducing and demonstrating the compliance software, Building in One which provides consistency through simple, step by step compliance and helps to prevent incidents from repeating through detailed investigation and root cause analysis through challenging due diligence.

Michael Kenyon, Technical Manager (electrical) for Bureau Veritas, said: “This is the latest in a string of events, tools and resources we have put together to help support our clients in understanding and meeting the requirements of 18th Edition.

“We are global leaders in testing, inspection and certification (TIC), offering a wide range of electrical testing and inspection services, and as part of this we are committed to working alongside organisations across all sectors to help improve electrical safety and compliance.

“The seminar will provide the opportunity to tap into the expertise of Bureau Veritas professionals from across the business, including both our technical team and digital team, and I look forward to welcoming clients from all industries for what is set to be an insightful and interactive event.”
