Paving the way for a more diverse workplace

Apr. 4 2023 - 3 min

Gender equality is a critical aspect of Shaping a Better Workplace, one of the three pillars of Bureau Veritas’ CSR Strategy, Shaping a Better World. As part of our ongoing CSR strategy, we aim to build an open and inclusive culture where teams are diverse, and differences are valued and welcomed.

Achieving gender diversity in the workplace can be challenging, especially for women aiming to thrive in their careers within historically male-dominated fields. At Bureau Veritas UK, our culture enables everybody to thrive and grow in their role and careers, leaving their mark responsibly by leveraging expert knowledge and skills. As part of our mission to achieve greater diversity in our teams, we want more women to be encouraged to build careers with us.

Fran Watkins-White - Head of CDM Services

A big highlight in my role is growing the team, supporting and watching our people grow in their careers, and servicing our clients with trust. An example is Dominic Barnes-Hines who joined the team last year and is growing as a CDM/Construction Fire Safety Consultant, these moments are great to see as part of shaping the world for our people and clients.

In my role, I love leading a team of CDM Consultants providing Client Advisors, Principal Designers, Construction Fire, and associated services across a wide variety of Built Environment projects. My role is very rewarding to me and I use a portfolio of skills as we grow our business and people.

Judith Turner - Head of Contract Cost Analysis

I enjoy the fact that not one day at work is ever the same or dull. I am continuously challenged to find answers or responses that bring Bureau Veritas and Clients together.

In my day-to-day role, I manage the bespoke appointment and financial administration for Building Control. This involves activities l processing, client negotiation of bespoke appointments, fee uplifts (variations), and reporting. I also carry out timely invoicing and manage account queries in respect of credit notes, final accounts, and aged debt.
