Bureau Veritas stands out from the crowd

Could you describe your career path and current position at Bureau Veritas UK?

I have been working in the environmental consultancy field for over ten years and have been at Bureau Veritas working as a Senior Consultant in the Air Quality team for almost four of them.

In your day-to-day work, how do you contribute to Shaping a World of Trust?

Through our work with DEFRA  under the national local air quality management helpdesk I assist in providing guidance and advice to local authorities for achieving compliance with their statutory duties on air quality, and aid promoting  best practices in air quality assessment and local policies aimed at reducing harmful levels of pollution.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Working within a team of experts who are knowledgeable, passionate and kind.

What has been a personal highlight since joining us?

Thanks to the team's open and inclusive approach to work, I was able to spend time in the Melbourne office and continue with the majority of my tasks in the UK while visiting family. This was a great opportunity to see how other parts of the business operate and acknowledge the flexibility Bureau Veritas provides.

What would you say to someone considering a career with us?

Bureau Veritas stands out from the crowd in the field of environmental consultancy in the UK. There is a greater range of projects here and a chance to be involved with making positive contributions to the air quality world beyond completing assessments for planning applications (though we do those too)!

What do you do outside of work to have fun?

I like to be outside in nature. One lockdown hobby I picked up was wildlife photography and I’ve had the opportunity to use my allotted volunteering time with Bureau Veritas to work with the RSPB.
