CLIENT CHALLENGE

The client, a UK housing association, faced the challenge of reviewing a substantial number of EICRs from multiple providers, requiring a level of expertise and impartiality that could only be delivered by a certified and experienced third party. The housing association needed to not only confirm the quality of the existing reports but also identify any potential areas for improvement in their electrical safety practices.

By engaging Bureau Veritas for this verification exercise, the housing association demonstrated its commitment to going beyond basic compliance, aiming to establish best practices in electrical safety management.

The housing association faced a complex challenge in ensuring the electrical safety of its extensive property portfolio. With multiple providers conducting inspections and producing EICRs, there was a critical need to verify the consistency and quality of these reports.

The client's primary concerns included:
  • Ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and other relevant safety regulations across all properties.
  • Validating the accuracy and completeness of EICRs provided by various inspection companies.
  • Identifying any potential gaps or inconsistencies in the reporting process that could compromise safety standards.
  • Gaining an independent perspective on their current electrical safety practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mitigating risks associated with electrical installations to protect tenants and property assets.
