Air quality assessments for Orbit Investments
Orbit Investments
Orbit Investments is a UK-based planning and property management company with 10-50 employees, managing a portfolio of 200 offices, 60 retail units, 40 industrial properties, and over 2,000 customers. When Orbit Investments needed to satisfy the Environment Agency's (EA) requirements for an Environmental Permit (EP) variation request, they turned to Bureau Veritas for support.
Client challenge
Orbit Investments had submitted an EP variation request in 2019, seeking to make a series of additions and changes to their existing activities at their site in Stockport. However, the EA returned the application and requested that further information and environmental assessment be provided.
Solution
Leveraging our prior relationship with Orbit Investments and deep understanding of local and national planning policy, Bureau Veritas was tasked with preparing two air quality assessments to support the individual planning applications for the same site. The assessments were required to ensure they fulfilled local guidance and relevant planning policy requirements.
Benefits
- Orbit Investments was able to proceed with their planned changes and additions to the site, allowing them to expand their operations and better serve their customers.
- The successful completion of the air quality assessments strengthened the relationship between Orbit Investments and Bureau Veritas, paving the way for future collaborations.
- Orbit Investments now has a better understanding of the regulatory requirements and can proactively address any future environmental assessment needs, ensuring a smoother process.
