BUREAU VERITAS’ FIRST INTEGRATED REPORT: A DEMONSTRATION OF VALUE CREATION

Driven by the guiding principles of the reference framework published by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), Bureau Veritas releases its first Integrated Report. By combining financial and non-financial data, this report explains how BV creates value for all its stakeholders – notably through the connectivity of its strategy, performance and risks; it also highlights its sustainable business model, purpose and ambitious strategy as well as its commitment to have a positive impact on people and planet. Read our Intergrated report here.

At Bureau Veritas, we help companies, governments and public authorities reduce their risks in terms of health, quality, safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.

Those challenges are central to societal aspirations. Being a Business to Business to Society company comes with a duty: to be exemplary in terms of sustainability internally, and to be a role model for industries in this area.

Our commitment is to act responsibly in order to Shape a Better World.

This means contributing every day to Shape a Better Workplace, a Better Environment, and Better Business Practices.

As the world transitions to a zero-carbon economy, we are committed to making changes in order to reduce our environmental impact and support climate action.

Bureau Veritas has joined the Science Based Targets initiative, a group of leading companies who are demonstrating the highest level of ambition on climate and paving the way to a net-zero future. It is a collaboration between CDP, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

As a member of this group, we commit to aligning climate targets to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Our carbon emission reduction targets for 2025 are currently being analysed by the Science Based Targets initiative.

Bureau Veritas has committed to SBTi’s ‘Business Ambition for 1.5°C’, an urgent call to action from a global coalition of UN agencies, business and industry leaders, in partnership with Race to Zero.

Additionally, we are part of the group of visionary leaders within the UN Global Compact, as well as recognised as committed to setting science-based targets on CDP and We Mean Business.

Bureau Veritas

At Bureau Veritas we have a long-term commitment to ensuring gender balance in the UK and on a global level, aligning with our core value of inclusivity.

We are continuing to focus on closing the gender pay gap and have developed plans and measures to do so, but we know there is still more work to be done. This will take time as to create consistent long-term change, we must start with the root causes of gender imbalance as a foundation, building upon our strategy for improvement on this basis.

As always, we are endeavouring to foster an inclusive working environment at all levels, and I am proud to be part of an organisation that shares this belief and provides us with the resources to act on this as well.
