Hungarian Nuclear Regulation - Introduction to Nuclear Safety Codes (Volumes 1 to 10)
OBJECTIVES
The participants of the seminar will get acquainted with the general principles of management systems for nuclear facilities, learn about the role and applied procedures of the nuclear safety authority. This seminar will review the Hungarian nuclear safety regulations and norms. Both the main legislative acts on nuclear energy and specific documents regulating the requirements for the design of new NPP units, storage of spent nuclear fuel, decommissioning conditions at various stages of the project, etc. will be considered.
Objective is to familiarize representatives of engineering companies and design organizations with the requirements of Hungarian nuclear safety and practical aspects of design.

Specialists and managers of engineering and design companies with knowledge of the principles of quality management in the nuclear energy sector.
COURSE CONTENTS
- Introduction to Hungarian Nuclear Safety Regulations and Legal Framework;
- Consideration of the main legal acts: a) Act CXVI of 1996 on Atomic Energy; General Rules of Administrative Proceedings and Services, Government Decree on Safety of nuclear facilities & radioactive waste repositories...);
- Detailed consideration of individual volumes of the Nuclear Safety Code for new NPP power units (NSC) ;
- Nuclear safety authority procedures of nuclear facilities;
- Design requirements for new nuclear power plant units;
- Requirements for the design and construction period of a new nuclear facility ;
- Interim storage of spent nuclear fuel;
- Consideration of decommissioning during design, construction and operation phases;
- Summary.
