WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE ON YOUR PLACEMENT?
The placement was very beneficial and provided me with a great learning environment. I was given an internship a couple of years before, so it was nice to see some familiar faces. I'm grateful for the opportunity to develop my skills at Bureau Veritas. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly, I felt free to ask questions and seek support when necessary.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN?
My biggest takeaway from the placement was having the experience of working in a professional environment and collaborating with a team. University was very independent, so it was nice to be involved with the practical side of my studies. I was given a range of tasks that allowed me to explore new ideas and utilise my potential in the workplace.
WHAT WAS A KEY HIGHLIGHT FOR YOU?
It is difficult to pick one highlight, as there are so many! I particularly liked the networking side, having the opportunity to meet new people outside of my university course. It was refreshing to see new perspectives and understand the different approaches people have to their work.
HOW HAS THE PLACEMENT HELPED WITH YOUR CAREER PROGRESSION?
A legal placement at Bureau Veritas helped me land a consultancy job, as I could show my employer that I've worked in a professional environment. The guidance and knowledge from my colleagues have shaped my mindset and will stay with me throughout my career.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU DURING YOUR TIME AT BUREAU VERITAS?
I took on a range of tasks and was happy to take on new challenges that came my way. My typical day involved; writing and editing legal articles, contract clauses, and creating a variety of presentations.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN THE FUTURE?
I am eager to network and meet new people, I think this will be a great way to achieve my goals and learn from like-minded individuals. I'm looking forward to progressing in my career, and I'm optimistic to see what the future holds.
