AGRI, FOOD & BEVERAGES CERTIFICATION

FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION

Safety and transparency are key in the heavily regulated agri, food and beverage sectors. Supply chains are becoming increasingly complex and consumers want confidence in their products. Safety issues can have a significant impact on reputation, cost and litigation, which is why it is essential to showcase your commitment to safety and quality.

Food Certification

Any organisation within the supply chain must be able to demonstrate the highest standards of safety and quality. Certification is the best way to do it, ensuring effective management systems that drive continuous improvement and enable business efficiencies.

Bureau Veritas is experienced in the agri, food and beverage sectors, working with clients to certify to a range of international standards.

BRC GLOBAL STANDARDS CERTIFICATION – BRCGS FOOD SAFETY

The British Retail Consortium Global Standards (BRCGS) Food Safety standard is recognised by and accepted by retailers, foodservice companies and major food manufacturers worldwide as part of their supplier approval process. It provides a framework for food manufacturers to achieve the highest levels of safety, covering a wide range of areas including HACCP, traceability and quality management systems.

ISO 22000 FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The international standard ISO 22000 helps organisations develop and implement effective food safety management systems. It is widely recognised as a key tool for improving the safety and quality of food products. Bureau Veritas is a certified body, approved to certify organisations to ISO 22000.

FOUNDATION FOOD SAFETY SYSTEM CERTIFICATION – FSSC 22000

FSSC 22000 certifies the food, feed and packaging safety systems of companies in the food chain that process or manufacture food and ingredients, including additives, vitamins and bio-cultures. It builds on the requirements of ISO 22000 and  is seen as the next step for those organisations that want to show further commitment and achieve a GFSI-recognised standard.

HACCP FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT

HACCP ensures that food products are safe for consumption and meet relevant safety standards. This food safety risk management tool supports organisations to manage food safety risks by identifying and evaluating potential hazards and putting in place controls to manage them throughout the supply chain and production processes.

GMP+ CERTIFICATION TO ANIMAL FEED

The international standard GMP+ covers the entire feed production chain, from raw materials through to transport and farming. It combines the principles of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) to help ensure quality and consistency in animal feed and feed ingredients.

Why Choose BV for your Food Certifications

  • Compliance with regulations: Food safety regulations require businesses in the industry to have a food safety management system in place, and employees trained in food safety and hygiene practices. A certificate in food hygiene and safety helps businesses comply with these regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Protecting public health: Food safety is critical to public health. Contaminated food can cause foodborne illnesses, which can be severe and even fatal. By ensuring that employees have a certificate in food hygiene and safety, businesses can help prevent the spread of foodborne illnesses and protect public health.
