What do the roles involve?

We’re looking for talented, dynamic people to join Bureau Veritas as Engineer Surveyors, Fixed Electrical Test Engineers or QC Inspectors.

As the technical authority on site working with some of the most well-known brands across the UK and Ireland, you would be working across a wide range of environments, using your experience to ensure that people are safe and that each asset is compliant with current regulatory and statutory requirements.

Working closely with clients as part of our unique partnership approach, our engineers efficiently deliver inspections using their technical expertise across a range of assets and installations. This could include electrical inspections such as emergency lighting and thermal inspections; lifting equipment and associated tackle in the crane discipline; elevators, escalators and moving walkways in the lift discipline; and pressure systems such as steam generating equipment and air compressors.

Our extensive experience in the nuclear sector is built on our long standing relationships and within the Nuclear defence industry. As part of our sustained long term growth plan, we are always interested in speaking with talented professionals with Nuclear or transferable skills to join our expanding Bureau Veritas nuclear team.

What does it take to apply?

As you would expect from a trusted inspection provider, Bureau Veritas holds a number of accreditations and complies with regulations including UKAS accreditation , SAFed membership and SAFed Standard SS01 complaince.

candidate requirements for mechanical inspection roles include: 

  • Minimum NVQ3, BTEC, J-Modules, City and Guilds 3, ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification for pressure, lift and crane
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience working with relevant discipline specific equipment
  • Current UK driving licence
  • LEEA qualifications are unfortunately not applicable on their own, but they are preferred alongside a relevant mechanically biased engineering qualification

Candidate requirements for electrical inspection roles include:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship and associated qualification – minimum NVQ/SVQ 3 or City and Guilds 3
  • 17th Edition Regulations
  • 2391 Testing and Inspection – or modern equivalent
  • COMPEX/ATEX is preferred, but is not applicable on its own
  • Current UK driving licence

Candidate requirements for nuclear inspection roles include:

  • CSWiP 3.1/3.2 and PCN Level II’s in Rad Int, MPi, DPi or HNC/HND/Degree with relevant site experience 
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience working with relevant discipline specific equipment
  • Current UK driving licence
