Fibre Identification and traceability (FIT)
The Bureau Veritas FIT programme determine's whether a manufacturer has the processes and process controls, to their stated product claims, relating to the nature/origin of fibres used in their products. The programme is designed to accurately identify the exact species of fibre used in a variety of materials and products.
We can identify and validate traceability of fibre's including the following:

EXCLUSIVE TO BVCPS
To help protect the global market for Egyptian Cotton products in retail stores, BVCPS has signed an exclusive agreement to offer verification testing of Egyptian Cotton using the extraction of DNA and PCR methods on samples of cotton fibre, cotton fabric and cotton products.
Using these proprietary techniques we can accurately identify the authenticity and origin of Egyptian Cotton used in a variety of Egyptian Cotton products.
FIT PROGRAM ELEMENTS
Fibre Identification Testing – Test methods available include extraction of DNA from fibre and fabric products combined with PCR techniques, staple length, microscopic evaluation, and chemical testing. Bureau Veritas engineers will help you select the best method for your application to identify and verify the authenticity of the fibre product. We also offer best practice sample pick up and retail surveillance.
Facility Audits - Audits of the traceability system across the production supply chain against audit protocol, lot numbering and bale identification. Depending on the issue(s), a follow up audit or a desktop corrective action review plan service is set up to help facilities who have not met the audit requirements.
Production Verification - Bureau Veritas can provide production verification services to offer our clients the confidence that products are being produced as stated in the designated facilities. This includes, incoming raw materials or components, manufacturing process from preparation of parts through to the finishing and packaging process.
Information Management - Bureau Veritas will optimise it's industry leading web based supply chain quality management platform, OneSource, to manage test reports, audit reports and corrective action plans for clients who use our FIT Programme.
