Listen to our exclusive audio interview with Bernard Richard-Canavaggio, Senior Manager for Global Marketing...

Green Rating is an innovative solution that assesses the environmental performance of existing buildings. The real challenge is to improve the existing stock of buildings according to a set of key indicators, some of which include energy, transport, and carbon.

A website dedicated to the Green Rating has now been launched: www.green-rating.com

Bernard Richard Canavaggio, Senior Manager for Global Marketing at Bureau Veritas answers the following questions on the Green Rating initiative and the new webiste:

What is the aim of the website and who is it addressed at?

Green Rating is an innovative solution and we wanted to mirror this innovation with the new webiste. It's a highly interactive site that holds a host of information, such as videos, animations, news items, and key contact details. A website is also a great opportunity to build a network, in particular we have a European network called "Green Community". This network includes companies, organisations and associations who are part of the large sustainable movement that is currently taking place in the property market.

Our first target audience is Europe and inlcudes investors, owners, property managers, etc. The easiest and simplest form of communications is of course a website. It helps to facilitate a deeper understanding of the green rating initiative, what it involves and how you can achieve it.

What can be found on the website?

You will find key explanations of the green rating initiatve and why it was created, toegther with the key partners who are involved. There is also a step by step guide to the different areas of a building that make up the initiative, and a closer look at the technical methodology behind the inititive.

Will any services be added in the future?

Our main objective is to set a real multi-services portal that informs people about the green rating services available, and be able to read and consult the green rating report for each of their buildings.

We also hope to offer a European benchmark system where a building in London can be compared to one in Madrid for example. This would be one of the many great advantages of the green rating initiative
