Bureau Veritas crowned as one of the UK's Top Employers for the fifth year running

Bureau Veritas is proud to announce that it has been officially certified by the Top Employers Institute for its exceptional employee offerings, for the fifth year running.

The annual, international research undertaken by the Top Employers Institute, recognises leading employers around the world: those that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation, and which strive to continuously optimise employment practices.  

Claire Antony, Head of HR UK at Bureau Veritas, said: “We’re thrilled to have been recognised for the fifth year now as a Top Employer, and it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of excellence in employee conditions.

Crucial to the Top Employers Certification is the completion of a stringent research process, and meeting the required standard in order to achieve Certification. To further reinforce the validity of the process, all answers were independently audited, meaning this research has verified Bureau Veritas UK’s outstanding employee conditions and earned them a coveted spot among a select group of certified companies. 

As a ‘people orientated’ business Bureau Veritas has a focused people strategy in place to ensure it identifies, develops and retains highly talented individuals. The strategy is built around five key pillars: the talent agenda, resourcing, engagement, learning and development, plus efficiency and effectiveness. 

Some of the people-focussed initiatives which have been well received by employees in 2016 include the PATH programme. Originally created for Bureau Veritas’s large team of mechanical and electrical engineers, PATH involves enrolment into a bespoke career development training programme in either a management or technical capacity - providing a structured and supportive pathway to increase skills, with the potential to become future team leaders or Advanced Technical specialists themselves.

Bureau Veritas also introduced new recognition schemes, in particular the ‘BV STARS – Special Thanks and Recognition Scheme. The STARS scheme actively encourages those with People Management responsibility to recognise  employees for their hard work whether it be ‘on the spot’ recognition, or a physical reward such as gift vouchers, team lunch,  an experience day or nomination into the Bureau Veritas Pride Awards. Team effort and customer relationship management skills has also not gone amiss. The ‘Lead to Succeed’ pilot scheme introduced by Bureau Veritas last year allows all field based employees a chance to be recognised through their efforts of converting ‘quality conversations’ into leads for the Sales team – showcasing a mark of good rapport and professionalism.
