Bureau Veritas wins noise awards
Bureau Veritas Acoustics and Vibration Group is proud to have been named winner of the Environmental Noise Category in the Association of Noise Consultants Awards 2016.
Bureau Veritas, Crossrail and Costain Skanska Joint Venture (CSJV) were crowned winners in a joint submission for the World Class Noise and Vibration Management on the Crossrail Station construction project at Bond Street.
The entry beat another successful Bureau Veritas project which was Commended on the night, for the successful operational noise assessment carried out as part of the Hinkley Point C Connection Project in conjunction with National Grid.
The specialist Bureau Veritas Acoustics and Vibration Group offers technical expertise in a range of areas from planning and environmental assessment, occupational noise & vibration, building & architectural acoustics, and noise & vibration training.
Of the winning project, Nigel Burton, Technical Director (Acoustics & Vibration Group) at Bureau Veritas, said: “This was a challenging project and the ANC Award is a well-deserved reward for everybody that played a part.
“We knew that Bond Street Station ticket hall sites present two of the most sensitive sites on the entire Crossrail route in terms of noise and vibration. The team met those unique challenges through effective planning, physical controls to mitigate noise and a strong emphasis on collaboration and team engagement.
“As a result Bureau Veritas was delighted to be part of the CSJV team who became one of the first contractors to be awarded a ‘world class’ score in noise and vibration performance under Crossrail’s Performance Assurance tool, which was developed to measure the performance of contractors working on the project.
The award exemplifies our commitment to working in partnership with our clients to achieve the best results possible for their projects.”
The Association of Noise Consultants Awards, which promote and recognise excellence amongst UK acoustic consultants, look for examples of work that display innovation and originality in acoustic design or approach to a particular project.
