Compliance management / Swift

Swift and MAIA

Engineering inspections are critical to meet both legislative requirements and best practice in a wide range of sectors. For any organisation it is crucial that such inspections are completed on schedule, on time and within budget - and that any necessary follow ups can be actioned swiftly and efficiently.

That’s why we have developed Swift, a web-based customer portal which gives our clients access to all information relating to plant inspections, and the MAIA (Mobile Application for Inspectors and Auditors) platform, which enables engineer surveyors to input the results of inspection examinations on-site using a touch-screen tablet.

Swift from Bureau Veritas – web-based reporting

Bureau Veritas does not just ensure compliance, we add value for our clients, helping to improve performance and create safer, more sustainable and more profitable businesses.

Our unique Swift reporting system has been developed with this in mind. We don’t just meet engineering inspection requirements, we provide the tools and systems that add value and ensure clients can react accordingly.

Swift is a web-based portal which gives our clients safe, secure, 24/7 access to their plant inspection reports and equipment lists – with instant access to plant inspection reports.

MAIA – enhanced inspection examinations

Our bespoke MAIA platform, which has been created in-house, enables engineer surveyors to input the results of inspection examinations on-site using a touch-screen tablet.

Offering the latest in mobile tablet technology, our teams use the Lenovo Helix Tablet to manage appointments, maintain client information and (if safe to do so) record the results of examinations on site, in real time.

Engineering inspection reports are issued to our Swift customer portal as soon as the completed work instruction has been sent and an internet connection is available, giving clients instant access to reports.

If cameras or mobile devices are not allowed on site, the engineer surveyor will record the results of examinations in a notebook and update MAIA once they are offsite.

Instant inspection reports

Together, Swift and MAIA ensure our clients can receive instant plant inspection reports with photographs and all associated documentation, across full plant schedules and multiple sites – as soon as the completed work instruction is submitted and an internet connection is available.

Live reporting does not just save money through process efficiency, it also ensures our clients can take action as soon as a problem is reported to reduce the risk (and length) of potential downtime. And best of all, it is free to all Bureau Veritas engineering inspection clients.
